Biography

Piergiovanni (P.G.) Salimbeni, was born in February 1975 in Varese, one small province of the North Italy, currently alive with his wife and with his small daughter Ersilia in Valganna, a green and humid valley located near the border with Italian Switzerland.

He approached the photography in 90's, thanks to its great love for astronomy, than carried him to collaborate with the greater Italian astronomy magazine in qulity of expert of astronomical optical lunar geology.

A sport incident happened in 2006 forced him to remain immobilized in bed for two months, in that period, analyzing the own life, understood that his love for the sky and the nature could be not only expressed through the astrophotography.

Therefore, remembering his experiences in the landscapes spatulas painting, began, with the usual enthusiasm he has from always, to study the photography landscape, putting him in practical not long the rehabilitation allows him.

In 2007 he joined, for the first time to two national photographic competitions, succeeding to obtain a first absolute place and a special prize for the photographic quality, subsequently, some images of him began to pick the attention of some publishers and of a Government agency, than decided to use his images to advertise the beauty of the North Italy Lakes.

Currently, March 2008 is engaged to organize his first personal exibition and to perfect his ability "to write with the light"

Often photographing with friends, he loves to experience with digital systems often  different from his,as for example the new Olympus e-3 and the NIkon D-300, property of his companions of adventure. He does not think to be an essential thing to possess a "determined" model of reflex, the important thing is to study a lot the place to photograph... to experiment and to dare.
